RYAN E. BLALOCK, MD

About Dr. Blalock

Dr. Ryan E. Blalock, MD is a fellowship trained hand and wrist orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of conditions affecting the upper extremity.  Treatment focuses include upper extremity sports injuries, trauma, fractures, carpal tunnel syndrome, other nerve entrapment syndromes, arthritic conditions, and trigger finger.  He offers open, arthroscopic, and endoscopic procedures.  Dr. Blalock became interested in the hand and wrist due to excellent mentorship during medical school, and now he has made this his life’s work.

Dr. Blalock grew up in a small town in North Georgia and attended college at the University of Georgia where he graduated as a first honor graduate.  Subsequently, he received his medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis, MO and went on to complete residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center-Houston.  After residency, Dr. Blalock completed a prestigious fellowship in hand and wrist surgery at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center in Philadelphia, PA.

When not operating or caring for patients in clinic you can find Dr. Blalock enjoying outdoor activities including running, cycling, snowboarding, carpentry, and whitewater kayaking, especially class V+ creeking, a kayaking discipline which typically involves navigating steep, low volume rivers and creeks.
